Diabetes mellitus

DM is the most common endocrine disease and is defined as a complex multi-systemic disorder due to an absolute or relative insulin deficiency with differing aetiology. Symptoms in the oral cavity occur predominantly in individuals with badly controlled diabetes. Oral symptoms manifest themselves as a dry smooth red colored tongue, signs of candidiasis like cheilitis angularis and many adverse effects on the periodontium which is associated with periodontitis. Perfect oral hygiene mostly lead to a fast relief of the oral symptoms. back

Therefore we share our clinical features with Paedriatricians, Medical Practitioners and Paediatric Dentists and we hope it will be helpful in distinguishing one lesion from another as a part of the diagnostic process. We have set our priority to lesions in children and adolescents and we hope this set focus will stress and develop cooperation.
