In the following chapter the intact, healthy structures of the oral cavity are described with the aid of photographs. For orientation all relevant anatomical structures can be identified by a legend.
The pictures have been taken of different children with either primary dentition or mixed dentition in combination with a (mainly) healthy oral cavity including the physiological mucosal structures.
The underlying diagrams are originally composed by the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology, University of Bern and were kindly supplied and put at our disposal by Prof. Dr. Bornstein. We thank him very much!
